What if career planning isn’t about having all the answers? 🤔
What if career planning isn’t about having all the answers? 🤔
At Wa Ying College, we were delighted to welcome Serena Tang, Career Development and Training Director (Master’s Programmes) at HKU Business School, for a practical session on career planning and CV building.
Serena encouraged students to see uncertainty differently: not as something to fear, but as something they can respond to with action and reflection.
Using Ikigai as a career-planning compass, students explored four questions 🧭:
What they enjoy
What they are good at
What the world values
Where real opportunities may lie
They were then challenged to connect the dots:
What problem do you care about?
What skill do you already have?
How could that skill help you understand or solve that problem?
The message was simple but powerful: clarity does not mean knowing exactly where you will end up. It means knowing what you are exploring — and why.
Thank you, Serena for joining us to help young people build the confidence and tools to navigate an uncertain future!
